Medical Anthropology at universities
In Hungary, medical anthropology is usually taught as part of the curriculum for students majoring in medicine, psychology and sociology. Some university institutes are offering it as a course, not as a separate study program.

Founded in 1996, collaborates with a number of university research centers, institutes, engages in themes related to cultural, social anthropology, the study of minorities, ethnography without borders.
Aldebaran Social Studies Research Workshop
Aldebaran Társadalomtudományi Kutatóműhely
Founded in 2001, by the members of cultural anthropology studies at the University of Miskolc. The association aims to foster collaboration in the domain of anthropology, especially cultural anthropology, it provides information about grants, research programs and themes in anthropology. It also aims to establish contacts with other research-related institutions, private or public entities involved in anthropological research. The association also promotes scientific publications and promotes applied anthropology in diverse settings.
Anthropolis, Anthropological Association
Founded in 2002, it aims to fight against global inequality, initiates discussion about the globalization of culture and represents a critical attitude. The association fulfills its mission through education, dissemination of information and publications. Its main activities are: 1. to provide global education through the distribution of materials, organizing workshops and courses, 2. to initiate awareness-raising through organizing cultural events, exhibitions, panel discussions and conferences in reference to social sciences and development issues. It is also involved in educational activities and has a large database in relation to digital storytelling.
Palantir Film Foundation
An association for visual anthropology, founded in 2000. It creates documentaries about cultural, social, political and global issues with an anthropological undertone, promotes the organization of movie nights and subsequent discussion platforms, organizes anthropological film festivals and exhibitions.
Artemisszio Intercultural Foundation

Founded in 1998 as a charitable organization. They believe in an open, tolerant society, where disadvantaged people are given opportunities and cultural diversity is valued. They promote the understanding between culturally diverse societies.
Comitas Pedagogical-Ethnographic Association

Its main goal is to promote the understanding of cultural differences, it strives for enhancing intercultural knowledge, through the organization of workshops, events, discussion forums, etc.
Szimbiózis Cultural Anthropological Foundation
Szimbiózis Kulturális Antropológiai Alapítvány
Founded in 1992, it aims to foster intercultural understanding, cultural education and awareness raising. They annually organize the cultural festival called Szimbiozis, disseminate their own publications, films and information materials related to diverse topics in anthropology. They also provide grants and various forms of financial support for field studies in anthropology, anthropological research and publications.
AnBlokk Cultural and Social Science Association
AnBlokk Kultúra és Társadalomtudományi Egyesület
Founded in 2008 by doctoral researchers and scholars, it aims to bring cultural and social issues to the forefront in society and into public discussion outside of academia. They have educational, publishing and artistic activities, they publish the AnBlokk cultural anthropological journal. They are also active in research and the organization of public events.
